Re posting and reviving this post from January 2013. This , I think, jump started my connection with juicing 🙂 Juice Jab is a pioneer in juicing and they have come a long way since they launched in late 2012 (check out their new blends and recipes at www.juicejab.com). I too have come a long way and have sustained my juicing privately, and happy to share that I lost a total of 12lbs since. And as of last year I know a lot of juicing have sprouted which I hope to try and eventually (maybe) write about them too. Happy Reading!
I love the New Year. It has always been my time to purge or cleanse, edit or unload (however you want to call it) the bad in me and around me. I always see it as a chance for me to improve and be better, an exciting time for change. So when my good friend (a fellow expat here in BKK) told me about her new biz in Manila – a venture in juice cleansing – and offered for me to give a try, I just said yes, without batting an eyelash:-) I was just ready to try anything and had a “Go Go Go” attitude….
The cleanse challenge: Juice Jab.
Juice Jab is an all-natural 3-day juice cleansing program where in you have to replace either one, two, or three main meals for two bottles of juice assigned for that certain meal. They offer three types of cleanses: Mild, Moderate, and Strong. The number of bottles you will take will depend on which cleanse you choose . I chose the moderate cleanse, which meant I had to replace breakfast and lunch for four bottles of juice jabs — two bottles for breakfast and two for lunch. My solid intake were limited to only vegetables and fruits for dinner. For about two seconds, my reaction was, What the hell did I get myself into?! But I opted to just suck it up and imagined a lighter ME three days after:-) Thought bubble: Mind over matter, Mia. No Pain, No Gain!!!
I did it! Three days and 12 juice jabs after, I lost two pounds of holiday fat. Which in reality means I removed all the toxins I accumulated. And for someone who has never tried juice cleansing at all, I am proud to say that I survived the Juice Jab challenge, with flying colors — hurray!!!
But let me warn you, the Juice Jab experience, for me especially, was no easy feat. Actually, It’s really not that difficult if you are in the convenience of your own home, but my situation of having to fly back home (to BKK) during the second day of cleansing was such a hassle because I had to time all my juice intake before check-in, which means my lunch on the plane was totally omitted. And when you are trapped 30 feet in the air, with the smell of Asian noodles or steamed pork, and with a grumbling stomach, it’s pure torture! All I could do was to snooze and/or drink lots of water. It’s a good thing my four remaining bottles, reserved for the 3rd & last day, were safely packed in a thermal bag with an accompanying dry ice which Juice Jab provided for. I love that they make it easy for you to take the juices wherever you want to, without worrying about spills or spoilage. And let me tell you the reason that motivated me to drink the juices were the cuteness of the bottles. The unusual shape made me like to hold it and carry it around.
aMot’s take: Cleansing is not easy and is not for everyone but it is Worth A TRY. Plus if you are aiming for a toxin-free body , go ahead. However, If you are aiming purely to lose weight, this is not the solution but a tool to help you jump start that goal.
Let me share, too, that during my cleansing I had to battle with three things: 1. headaches 2. tiredness 3. irritability. My friend said these are normal and gets better, which is true. And because I did see good results, I am willing to do it all over again. In fact I would like it to be part of my Habitual Nosh:-) For more info and to order visit Juice Jab . Follow them via their FB page , Twitter or Instagram to see who has been jab-bed or is jab-bing at the moment! Who knows, you might be next!!! Fun!
(Strong Suggestion: I recommend that you check with your physician if you are diabetic or have some sort of condition before you order. Pregnant or nursing women are not allowed to cleanse but single jabs will be a good supplement)
