Almost the same time last year, the H and I traveled to two of our dream destinations in Europe — Italy and France, sadly sans the kids (just because it’s so expensive!) We did 5 cities in Italy —Rome, Florence&Pisa, Siena and Venice–plus the ultimate Paris in France. Yes it was a wanderlust of a lifetime and we really had a good time but we also missed our kids. So this year, for our usual travel tradition month getaway (October -November) we promised that we will take them to somewhere vibrant and exciting…..The perfect choice was Japan.
We only had ten days. And I figured, we could only do two cities at the most. So, as the designated travel planner, I chose a modern vibe — Tokyo and a more laid back place — Osaka. Then from Osaka, I planned that we do a day trip and visit two nearby old cities — Nara and Kyoto. Yes all of that in just ten days. Tiring was an understatement. We were wiped out. Nonetheless, we will always cherish Japan in our hearts and minds. From the people, to the food, endless walking , and multiple train rides, it is A MUST to visit again!
Oh and let me add, contrary to what others say that Japan is an expensive city to visit, we didn’t think so. Eating was very reasonable, and shopping not that bad (I went crazy with electronics and gadgets!!)…
Here are some snaps I took from my Canon 5DM2..

The amazing Osaka, Nara & Kyoto
PS. This year’s trip, I would like to thank a good friend who has extended his home to us in Tokyo. Art Guru Ambeth Ocampo, you are the best! And in our Osaka leg, the most unexpected of reunions happened. We met up with good friends , who had their family in tow too— Geraldine and Francis Tueres, so so happy we saw you and the brood. It made our Osaka destination more memorable! Thank God Ger had the plan for Nara and Kyoto that all we had to to was tag along:-) Cheers to good friends!!!
