Flying home this time around was special for me because of three things : 1) To celebrate my eldest daughter’s birthday 2) To attend the wedding of my very good friend from my Singapore days, and last but not the least, no. 3) To conduct an exclusive basic photography workshop that was hosted by co-blogger turned good friend , The Spoiled Mummy (TSM) , for her and her close friends. This small event was called : For Ladies Only — An Afternoon Of Food, Fotos and Fun.
As TSM mentioned in her blog post this morning (thanks again, TSM) the agenda was nothing serious, advanced or technical. It was basically to teach the simplest and most basic photography to an intimate group of ladies who wanted to, once and for all, learn more about their cameras so they wont be dependent on their iPhones too much. And since our hostess loves to eat and host, it was also a venue to mingle and chit chat about anything beyond photography.
Our hostess is not called The Spoiled Mummy for nothing. Because when she hosts, everything is perfect (she is truly a perfectionist and I like that about her!) Plus, expect the food to be heavenly delicious — well, it was. Our spread of savory and sweets were from Casa San Luis Pastries. The chef and owner Carmela, was among the ladies who took the workshop and was super hands-on on the styling that it was such a delight to shoot. Not to mention, super yummy!!! Oh my, I cannot forget and still dreaming of The Spoiled Mummy Peanut Butter Cups!!
The event was a success — fruitful + fun. I was happy to teach what I loved doing best and privileged to have shared my knowledge with 8 ladies who were very enthusiastic . TSM and Dainty Mom both wrote elaborate posts about it, here & here, and I cannot thank them enough for it. Both ladies have been more than co-bloggers to me, they have turned out to be good friends.
But allow me say this here : I am very grateful that I met Dainty Mom. She has inspired me to continue my blog and the reason why I have met these empowered ladies— a few names to share— Fancy Girl Designs, Manila Workshops, and most of all The Spoiled Mummy. Now, even if I am miles away from home, it seems that my blogging and photography is thriving more than ever…. so thank you very much Martine!!! Looking forward to future workshops ! Or even hanging out for coffee will do:-)
